We aim to work closely with parents/carers as partners in your child’s learning and development welcome you into school. The teachers are available to have a quick chat with at the end of every day so please do not hesitate to pass on any information that would be useful for us to know or ask any questions. If you have a concern or would like a longer conversation with the class teacher please make an appointment to speak to them.
There are a number of ways to find out more about what your child is learning, how they are progressing and about school life in general.
Parents’ Evenings are held usually in October and March. At these meetings, you have a 10 minute appointment with your child’s class teacher to discuss your child’s learning, progress and development. You are also able to view your child’s work in their books.
Parents in Class Sessions are held once each half term. This is an opportunity to spend a short time in your child’s class, usually between 8:40-9am to see how the learning takes place.
Exit Tasks are held at least twice per year. You are invited to spend a longer session in school with your child to celebrate their learning in a particular topic. This may involve taking part in a specific activity with your child or enjoying a class drama or presentation of their topic. Recent Exit Tasks have been parent/child shelter building and parents forming the jury for a ‘class court case’.
Meet the Teacher is a short session held early in September when you can meet your child’s new class teacher, see the classroom and find out more about the new routines of the class.
Celebration Assembly is held every Friday at 8:55am and parents, families and friends are very welcome. Several children are chosen from each class and awarded a Certificate of Achievement for their learning, attitude or behaviour. We also celebrate birthdays of the week and hear about the winning crystal team and best class attendance.
